The Soul Spot – “From rarities to classics, we keep the Modern Soul dance party alive in San Antonio.”
The Soul Spot is an all-vinyl dance party that specializes in classic and modern Soul music. Providing DJ services in San Antonio and throughout the surrounding region for special events, the Soul Spot crew performs at galleries and museums, city functions, and nightclubs. The Soul Spot Djs specialize in Modern Soul which is understood as selections from 1970 to the present. From Marvin Gaye to Jamiroquai, Luther Vandross to Gwen McCrae, The Ojays to Joey Negro, the Soul Spot acknowledges the classics as well as today’s future soul legends. Soul music is celebrated at every Soul Spot party.

The Soul Spot DJ Crew
The Soul Spot was founded by JJ Lopez and Scuba Steve in February 2010 in San Antonio, TX. For over 9 years, The Soul Spot DJ Crew provided music at Tucker Kozy Korner every first Fridays from 9pm-2am, FREE to the community and made available to dancers from around the city. Today, music is provided by Djs Ben Luhrman, Matt Vasquez, Chris Boneta, Leonard Trujillo, Rene Gonzalez, and JJ Lopez. You can catch the crew playing every first Friday at Francis Bogside in Southtown. In addition to the monthly residency, the Soul Spot hosts special events throughout the year that include: DreamWeek, Love Saves the Day, Love is the Message, plus special guest Djs throughout the year. Past guest DJs include: Chorizo Funk, Austin Boogie Crew, Skeme Richards (Philly), Prince Klassen, Chicken George, Johnny D (NYC), Joshua Swensen, and The Alamo City Soul Club.
