Among the handful of DJs that have driven Houston’s nightlife scene since its first beat, there’s no one else quite like DJ Gracie Chavez. For over a decade, Gracie has kept pushing the crossover of music genres, playing a spectrum of music and winning folks over. Her sharp skills and taste-making selections have earned her Houston’s Best DJ (2016) title, and made her the top choice for events all over Texas.
This mami runs Bombón Music, a record label she co-founded as an extension of Bombón, the Gulf Coast’s ultimate tropical bass crew. She also founded Les Femmes, Texas’ best all-lady DJ crew, and is the founding DJ workshop instructor for Girls Rock Camp Houston. She holds monthly DJ residencies at Houston’s House of Blues (Brown Sugar) and Marriott Marquis Texas-sized pool deck (2017-2018).

Sharing her Afro-Tejana experience one analog sound storage medium at a time. Her mama is Mexican, and her Daddy is the Ace of Spades… Born and raised on Houston’s south side – the Mexican Blackbird’s ever growing vinyl collection is as eclectic as the city she hails from. She began spinning records in public for fun in 2011, but has since taken the charge of using her unique background and keen musical knowledge to spread solidarity among Black and Latinx communities.
On any given night you can expect to hear a magnetic selection of Funk, Cumbia, Soul, Salsa, Tejano, 80’s Everything, and Boogaloo emanating from the Mexican Blackbird’s system.

Gio Chamba
Gio Chamba is a live/electronic, musical duo from Houston Texas, consisting of guitarist & singer Giovanny Alejandro and percussionist Coffee Guzman. Their live shows and Dj sets are as dynamic as their music, in that they span many genres and moods. Psychedelic Cumbia guitars on top of infectious dance beats, with a touch of “Konga Fu”, a fusion of Martial Arts and percussion, originated by Coffee Guzman.
In their three years of making music together, they have collaborated with artists such as, Baby Bash, ILL Mascaras, El Dusty, Principe Q, ILL Faded and Lester Rey. They have opened up for acts such as Ozomatli, Brown Out, Money Chicha, Bang Data, El Dusty, Las Cafeteras, Making Movies, Chicano Batman, Natalia Lafourcade, Los Lonely Boys, Los Rakas, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Deltatron, Los Mirlos & Hurray for the Riff Raff. Gio Chamba’s music is a wave of diversity with an overall message of love, peace and acceptance.

DJ Synth (ATX)
Synth started her musical journey when she was gifted a collection of cassettes by her brother that introduced her to a diverse range of music including classic rock, west coast funk, soul disco & merengue. The influence of different sounds at a young age led her to explore an array of different beats and rhythms across the musical spectrum. The sounds of Synth create an eclectic impulse that pushes your back off the wall and inspires you to move to the rhythm.
Her unique track selection and technique of blending classic deep house with fierce jacking beats or Latin inspired house will keep you riding a wave of energy.

DJ Ria Bird (NYC)
Having outgrown the small pond in Salt Lake City that spawned her, Ria set her sights on New York City and beyond in the summer of 2014. In that short time she’s played nights and residencies at some of New York City’s most exclusive clubs such as Paul’s Baby Grand, Soho House, Surf Lodge, Rose Bar, Elsewhere, Rough Trade, Brooklyn Bowl, and Good Room. Ria has Djed and performed live in support of dozens of internationally known acts such as Escort, Midnight Magic, Justin Strauss, Eli Escobar, Salt Cathedral and more.
Outside New York Ria has performed and DJed in South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Miami, and Los Angeles. Ria is currently Djing across the country and continues to write and produce as one half of 88 Palms, a project she shares with Morgan Wiley (Midnight Magic, ex Hercules & Love Affair). Ria is a second generation DJ, and is heavily influenced by 70s disco, early electronic, rock, punk, and soul music.
